The Swedish World Heritage Group

During a journey in a bus between the Heritage Sites the Fortress of Sveaborg and the Wooden City of Raumo in Finland in 1995 the network “The Swedish World Heritage Group” was established for a wider and more organized co-operation between different interested parties hooked up in the activities around the sites in Sweden. Later in the autumn this year the group had its first meeting – in the Heritage Site the Engelsberg Iron Works.

In the network representatives from national, regional and local authorities, owners, operators and so on takes part. The most important purpose is to share experiences and best practise and rise the competence in the management of the different World Heritage Sites. The network has a meeting once or twice a year.
